Saran Toure is a self-taught oil painter based in Washington, DC. Her contemporary figurative
Works explore themes of self-reflection, love, and complex emotion, inviting vulnerability and connection. Since 2018, Toure has developed a distinctive practice rooted in expressive storytelling through portraiture. Her current body of work deepens these investigations by examining how childhood experiences shape identity and by confronting the grief of a mother’s passing. This series continues her exploration of vulnerability, memory, and emotional depth, offering intimate reflections on human resilience.
